Bird Awareness & Conservation

Birds are at the heart of LYFER.

They are found almost everywhere, from remote forests and wetlands to city parks, backyards and the streets we walk every day. They are part of how we understand the world around us, and often one of the clearest signs of how that world is changing.

LYFER was created as a lifestyle brand for modern birders, but our purpose has always gone beyond what we make. We want more people to notice birds, talk about them, care about them, and understand the role they play in healthy ecosystems.

Because the more people notice birds, the more chance we have of protecting them.

The LYFER Bird Fund

Through the LYFER Bird Fund, a portion of sales from our apparel and accessories supports bird conservation and awareness.

Our current giving commitment is simple.

5% of sales from our Original Range supports BirdLife Australia, helping protect Australian birds and the habitats they rely on.

10% of sales from our Endangered Range supports conservation work connected to the species featured in the range.

This includes support for Conservation Partners through our Golden-shouldered Parrot range, helping their work at Artemis Station in Cape York.

It also includes support for Zoos Victoria through our Orange-bellied Parrot tee, helping raise funds and awareness for one of Australia’s most critically endangered birds.

Why birds need our attention

Birds are facing growing pressure from habitat loss, climate change, pollution, invasive species, disease and changes to the places they depend on.

Some species are still common and familiar. Others are becoming harder to find. Some are now so rare that every bit of awareness helps keep their story in the conversation.

That is a big part of why LYFER exists.

We are not a conservation organisation. We are a brand with a community, a platform and a clear reason to use both. Every product, journal, guide, event and conversation is another small way to bring birds into view.

Our Endangered Range was created to do two things: help fund conservation work and make endangered birds easier to talk about.

Each featured species has its own story. Some are affected by habitat loss. Some rely on very specific landscapes. Some migrate huge distances. Some live closer to us than we realise.

By wearing or sharing the range, you help carry those stories further.

That is the part we care about most. More people noticing. More people asking questions. More people learning the names of birds they may never have known before.
